Nixa Area Farmers Market
Market Rules

Effective March 2020

1. Membership is open to anyone who grows or produces his or her own goods and grows and or produces his or her own goods in the Missouri counties of Christian, Douglas, Webster, Greene, Lawrence, Stone or Taney.
2. Members may sell produce, plants, flowers, crafts, and canned/packaged goods if members produce them.
3. No drugs or alcohol allowed or sold at market.
4. Membership based on non-agricultural products may be limited.
5. Annual membership fee is $55.
6. Members will allow an on-site visit by a Certification Committee.
7. Membership fee must be paid before inspection. If inspection fails: fee is nonrefundable. Certification Committee consists of at least two board members.
8. Members are allowed to sell produce grown by other members.
9. Market will open April and close in September with approximate dates to be determined annually.
10. Market hours for the Main & 14 location are Saturday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Vendors may stay later if desired..
11. Space for vehicles will be available on a first come basis.
12. Setup spaces may be determined by board members if spaces become limited.
13. Members must display Nixa Area Farmers Marekt Inc. member certificate on their vehicle or stand on market days.
14. Members are reponsible for complying with all local, state and federal laws.
15. Members are responsible for cleaning up around their stands. The last person to leave will check the area and make sure it is clean. Members must provide their own trash receptable. This rule will be strictly enforced.
16. Any problems should be addressed to a manager or board member.
17. Members will not setup on market areas outside of regular market hours and days.
18. No vendor information shall be given to other markets without vendor consent.
19. Gas or diesel generator should not be too loud and will be inspected and approved by board members.
20. Non-members will not have voting privileges.

Tips for a great market:
1. Treat the market like a group effort. The better the market is, the better it is for you.
2. Early selling is bad for the rest of the market, please do not sell until 8 am.
3. Be friendly with everyone including customers and vendors.
4. Learn what other vendors sell and make recommendations to customers.
5. If you are selling outside the market arrange meet ups at the market.
6. If you know you will leave early, please setup with a plan to pack up and exit without disturbing other vendors.
7. Buy from other vendors.
8. Invite people to like the market’s Facebook page, post when you will be at the market to you own page.
